Seaside Photo Walk

Just like the song, I do like to be beside the seaside! As it was my weekend off from the day job, last Saturday Mr Writer and I took a trip to the lovely seaside town of Frinton in Essex, which is a special place to us for a number of reasons. I really wanted to share some photos from our walk- we had a lovely lunch (and cake!) and walked from Frinton to Walton and back, taking in the sea air and admiring the colourful beach huts that stretch along the front. As you can see from the photos, throughout the walk it alternated between spells of bright Spring sunshine and big, grey moody skies, but we were lucky to avoid any showers. A lovely day off spent together!

Do you have a favourite seaside walk?

Hyde Hall Photo Walk

Mr Writer and I recently had a week off and took advantage of the lovely Spring weather to get out and about exploring the local Essex countryside. The Spring flowers are in full bloom and there is blossom in the trees- everywhere is looking so pretty at the moment! We were given the very thoughtful gift of an RHS membership and our nearest RHS garden is Hyde Hall in Essex. It's interesting to visit the gardens throughout the seasons to see how they change. Here are some photos from our lovely Spring walk around the gardens...

Check out the Minion scarecrow!

Hope you're all enjoying some Spring sunshine where you are. I'll be back at the weekend sharing a Spring inspired How To- until then, have a great rest of the week!

Riverside Photo Walk

I'm trying to get outside and walk more so I've been using the opportunity to take more photos! I live in a small town in Essex just a short walk away from the River Blackwater and my favourite place to walk is along the river. Today I wanted to share some photos from my latest riverside walk- It was a bit of grey and rainy early morning but it was still pretty and peaceful down by the river.

I love going down to the river early in the morning- all you can hear is birds and tinkling boat sounds!

There are great views from the end of the prom

The famous mud. Every year there is a charity mud race here and brave people dressed in all sorts of costumes attempt to cross the mud!

The statue is of Byrhtnoth who led the Anglo Saxons against the Vikings in the Battle of Maldon

This is one of my favourite views of the town

I love living here and I feel really lucky to be able to enjoy these lovely surroundings

Had to get a photo of these nautical details!

What's your favourite thing about where you live?
