Seaside Photo Walk

Just like the song, I do like to be beside the seaside! As it was my weekend off from the day job, last Saturday Mr Writer and I took a trip to the lovely seaside town of Frinton in Essex, which is a special place to us for a number of reasons. I really wanted to share some photos from our walk- we had a lovely lunch (and cake!) and walked from Frinton to Walton and back, taking in the sea air and admiring the colourful beach huts that stretch along the front. As you can see from the photos, throughout the walk it alternated between spells of bright Spring sunshine and big, grey moody skies, but we were lucky to avoid any showers. A lovely day off spent together!

Hyde Hall Photo Walk

Mr Writer and I recently had a week off and took advantage of the lovely Spring weather to get out and about exploring the local Essex countryside. The Spring flowers are in full bloom and there is blossom in the trees- everywhere is looking so pretty at the moment! We were given the very thoughtful gift of an RHS membership and our nearest RHS garden is Hyde Hall in Essex. It's interesting to visit the gardens throughout the seasons to see how they change. A Beautiful Mess DSLR Basics

A great online course from A Beautiful Mess that takes you through the basics of using your DSLR camera. The course also helps you to develop your personal photography style and how to take photos in a variety of situations, such as product photography and portrait photography. 

Craftsy

Craftsy offer a huge amount of online craft courses including many photography classes- I'd like to take the product photography course!

You Tube

Nikon D3200 Users Guide

This You Tube video is a really comprehensive guide to the Nikon D3200, right from initial set up to exploring all the features and functions of the camera

You Tube is a great learning resource if, like me, you are a visual learner. I learn quicker by watching and doing rather than reading a manual. You can also search for videos relating to your particular camera and it's free (bonus)!

Pinterest

Pinterest is such a brilliant (and addictive!) resource for gathering tips and inspiration on all sorts of subjects. I love it because you gather your pins by subject and they are usefully stored for accessing as and when you want to
